Hello!
If you're thinking about opting for feedback this year, here's what you can expect to receive.
Last year we served up Performance Reports for every entrant, and received some great feedback on how we could do better. So this year, we're doing away with the compulsory feedback, lowering the entry fees, upping the prize pools, and making the feedback optional at a supplement.
For your money, you'll get the performance report you did last year, which will tell you how your work scored on out five metrics: Spelling & Grammar, Concept, Style, Composition, and Realisation. You'll also receive a portion of pre-generated feedback, explaining the context for the judge's score, outlining some basic, general advice that may be used moving forward.
On top of that, you'll receive the personalised comments from the judge who reads your work. In previous years, this has been a few hundred words of generic, encouraging feedback. But you'll be glad to know that this year, it's going to be more in-depth, longer, and most importantly, guided by you. You can also expect the feedback to be more constructive and less complimentary than in previous years, so it will be a lot more effective.
Sound good? We think so too. Check out the competition pages and the rest of the blog for more information. And make sure to read our other blog post which outlines how to guide your feedback.
All the pieces -- those with and without feedback -- are judged by the same criteria and metrics, and are considered alongside each other. Feedback does not have a bearing on the performance of the entry in the competition. All work is judged anonymously.
